Title translation: Delusion

Another piece I made for an application to art school.
My main inspirations was the trailer to the documentary Midway. www.midwayfilm.com/ In recent years it has started to bug me how much people romanticize nature. How we see it as a beautifully organized system that balances between survival and death. Animals are seen as part of that system - us humans as something seperate. The only times we start to appreciate certain animals is when we see us in them, when they do something we humans do. The further from mammals we go the less appreciation a species gets from us. The separation between humans and nature is pure fiction - a damn fantasy people feed to themselves.
Everything that keeps us alive comes from the nature: our food, our clothes, our chemicals, our building resources and technology... heck, oil, gold, money - everything comes from nature. We cannot live without our environment yet we think that living in an area where it's been covered in concrete and metal there's no such thing as nature.

The fantasy is healthy, the reality is not. Feel free to glorify the progress humans have made as a species but remember that if every tooth is rotten even a dentist can't help. Science won't save us if we destroy the planet we live on.
